pawn shop tag with chipped crystal

I stopped at a pawn shop today to see what might be hiding in their cases. I look at this Tag Link thats marked down from $700 to $350. The watch is probably 95% save for a chipped crystal. It's the automatic movement, I think it's their calibre 5, please correct me if I'm wrong. This is a pretty good chip with a small crack leading toward the dial and I have to consider the impact and possible effects on the movement. It started up immediately and it seemed to run fine for the five minutes that I haggled to get the price down to $250. I'm guessing that a new crystal will cost around $300 for this watch. What do you guys think?
Oh, they also had a fake Omega speedmaster for $550 if anyone is interested.

A new crystal wouldn't cost that much, a fraction of the cost you mentioned, unless you had to have a genuine TAG crystal~Cheers!

Did you buy it? 100% sure it's genuine? How easy does a sapphire crystal chip? 90% of 'high end' watches I see in pawn shops are fake. I have seen fake Seikos in pawn shops.....If you know it's genuine then it's a good deal, if it fake it's not worth $2.50.

The one I'm looking at is real. They actually have the Omega and another Tag marked as "imitation" on the price tag. I'm hesitant because I have standing orders for no more purchases for a while.

Please tell me you're not taking the pawn shop's word that the Tag you're looking at is genuine.

if its real thats a deal, get the model number and serial number from the back. it has a double ar coating on the lens and the front and back display are sapphire, not mineral. most of the time mineral cracks and sapphire shatter's. might be a fake

I felt sure that it is genuine until I read your post that it should have a display caseback. This one is solid and numbered as a limited edition of somebody with a japanese name. Does that sound right?
