    Paypal n the USPS **WARNING**!

Paypal is a great way to send and receive funds, however, many shady individuals turn it into an open market for stealing your hard earned cash. Sadly the United States Postal Service are (unknowingly) aiding these individuals. In the past couple of months I have received 2 watches that according to the USPS tracking system are still in transit. One of which was a $4,000 to $5,000 Seiko MM300 SBDX012.

The implication of this is horrifying!

This is why we should stress the fact that PayPal should be considered and used, ONLY, from well established members with stellar feedback and history.

    Good watching!!

You have or haven't received? If the seller applies tracking how are they stealing any money? Most likely they generated two tracking nbers my mistake and sent you the wrong one. I've done it before, and when I realized it I updated the tracking in PayPal but they only send notification of the first generated tracking number not any changes. I assumed my buyer knew that I had generated two and saw the change- but he didn't until he emaed me and I looked at it and saw what happened. he probably saw the same thing on his end that you are- a tracking number perpetually in transit

I once bought a watch from a hijacked eBay account, and the perpetrator uploaded a used FedEx tracking number which was shown the item was delivered. Well, the tracking number showed the item was delivered somewhere overseas, and obviously eBay caught it and refunded my money right away.

Huh. Ok, I guess I figured that with eBay, PayPal, and USPS all being in cahoots that their systems talked to each other to flag fake tracking numbers or canceled numbers.

Just because I'm ignorant of the process involved...if you received the watch and the tracking number shows "in transit", what is the negative side effect? Is this a USPS system error perhaps?

Why on EARTH would they all be in cahoots?

I know for sure that FedEx SmartPost and UPS SurePost...where the package is passed from the courier service to USPS for delivery...generates 2 numbers. The courier number track closes out when the package is turned over to USPS, at your local facility. You've got one from overseas; I can believe that in some cases, that's what's going on.

I'm not sure what's going on with the various delivery locations, but to ascribe a wild conspiracy theory to this combination of agents is simply outlandish.

Not a conspiracy theory. What I'm saying is that if you do a ton of business with USPS/ FedEx/ups/ etc you sometimes have a shipper account so your systems and theirs are tied together to take care of stuff like this. I used to work for a laptop reseller and we could update and change tracking on the fly along with delivery location if we needed to at request of buyer and it updated most instantly on both ends. With as much tie in as eBay and PayPal have already with USPS and ups for generation of tracking numbers when you pay through their site you'd think that a doubled up tracking number for the same package or a dead tracking number would be flushed out automatically.

I have absolutely no idea what you are getting at.Never a problem with either here. Can you present your case a bit more clearly?
