    Perfect 3 watches collection?

What would be your perfect 3 watches collection?

    1. The day watch: the watch that suits your occupation.

    2. Dress-down timepiece: worn everywhere from the beach to the ski slopes or for pottering around in the garden.

    3. The dress watch : A watch geared for special occasions and big nights out.

Or if you think a collection should have more than three, comment please!

I would find it VERY hard to come up with a 3 watch collection as I'm a firm believer in the more the merrier when it comes to watches.
If I was forced to choose just 3 pieces they would be my Oris ProDiver Date, the Tissot Visodate and my DJ. (not the same as your criteria but my favourites)

3? Nope, never, nada, won't happen unless my sight goes. Too many beautiful pieces out there. Now, if it's 3 for each classification, maybe . . .

    Perfect 3 watches collection?

You can start buying a box for your collection. I considered a minimum of six: Vintage, tourbillon, flieger, diver, chrono and complication -perpetual calendar, moonphase...- All of them mechanical, of course.
And after that, when you get your first six... You"ll probably need a bigger box! And another one... Then you star to re-classify them by styles, dial colours, auto or handwinding, movements, brands, straps and bracelets size... You finaly spend more time with your boxes than with your wrist watch!!!!
It is like a wonderful trap... Once you are in, you can't get out!!! :)

    1) Vintage Enicar Sherpa Guide. Keeps track of three times zones. I'm an economist with customers in three time zones. Works perfectly for me.

    2) G-Shock with vibration alarm for sports and anything else. Wear it five times as week when I go swimming to time my kilometer swims and once a week in the sauna to make sure I turn over before I'm done.

    3) Vintage Gruen Pan-Am, rolled gold, original dial and movement.

Of course a collection can have more than three. I have over 100 at this point, but that's just me going overboard. Almost all vintage.

I should have at least 4:
Pam 177 (or any other Pam) - daily watch (I wear short sleeve shirt/polo to work)
    Seiko SBDX011 - dive watch (for sport/casual/work)
Rolex 16570 - travel and "dress" watch (still can slip under the sleeve and looks good for travel)
    Gshock mudman - beater/travel

    Re: Perfect 3 watches collection?

    1) Everyday
This is the one you wear most and so an automatic would suit.
For me it should be fit for the office but also tough. It should not be so expensive that you would worry if it was lost or broken
    Current: Speedbird 3
Ideal: Damasko DA36 or maybe the Speedbird!

    2) Dressdown
For me this should be tough for hiking/camping/swimming but also I'd want to blend in accuracy - I would like one watch Radio Controlled Quartz.
    Current: Casio Pro Trek PRW3000
    Ideal: Casio Pro Trek PRW3000

    3) Dress
This one should be your Manual wind (maybe with sapphire case back)
For me I'd like a watch in Bauhaus style with a light face. A Max Bill I have more chance of affording but I'm going with a grail for this one.
    Current: None
    Ideal: Nomos Orion 38

Wow and not a Swiss brand in sight...
