    Phantom PVD wear. . .

10 months of abuse and nada, nil, no noticeable wear in the PVD. Earlier this month I was recruited to do the swim portion of the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. I wore the Phantom on a bracelet (I usually swim with it on a strap). Again, no wear at all. In addition to swimming 2 to 3 times a week, I wear my Phantom to time my runs. Lately, I've kept the Phantom on the bracelet just because it looks better in the office. Still no noticeable wear.

I just thought I'd share. Here is a photo from the Alcatraz swim.

Oh, yeah, I pounded out a 1-hour trail run with Obie last week and timed it on the Phantom. It is one rugged watch.

Here is a good looking photo from the same race.

This is where the swim 'ends'.

    Fantastic looking Phantom.
How was the water temp and current?

I'm pretty sure you're a bit more rugged than the watch. Good work. Terrible picture though, no man should wear a banana hammock like that.

In my defense, I'm not in the second photo. I'd agree that is a poor choice of swim wear.

The water temp on that day was a warm 60 degrees (it gets as low as 43 in the winter). The currents weren't too bad either. Although it was windy which makes the surface choppy and hard to breathe. All in all it was a beauty of a swim.

Anyway, about the Phantom, I'm a bit surprised there isn't any wear in the PVD yet. I know some folks have had different experiences. I enjoy putting it through the rigors. So far, so good!

Wink Ugh, not another Phantom Tactical shot...

Lookin' good there, Kev, as usual. <yawn> However, I'm wondering when we're gonna get a gander at something, ummm, new, perhaps?

VERY COOL... although I would never wear a watch that expensive in or around the water on a bracelet... I'd be way too scared to lose it. I've lost a couple of watches before doing that diving, but they were pretty cheap.

I want a kobold SO bad!!
