Picked out a mechanical watch that I like. WHO has one of these? TISSOT.

After searching for a couple of days, I have decided on this one.
I can't find a jewel count on it anywhere. But it is what I like.
I do not know if this is considered a high grade watch or not.
Not sure what the movement is.

I also wonder if I can put a nice black metal band on it? I really like the looks of his watch.
Also, would this watch be considered as accurate as most of the other mechanical watches out there?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions for other watches up to 1500.00.

    thanks in advance.

Those pics are from this ABTW review which also identifies the movement:

Skeleton's are not my thing but that's one of the better looking ones to me. I don't know about the accuracy but I wouldn't think it would differ much from other similarly priced mechanicals.

It's a base 6497 so it's 17j. If you look closely at the last pic near the WR rating on the case back you can make out the 17 Jewel stamp on the movement.

I would not put a bracelet on it regardless of color. It will be a straight end link bracelet and will look terrible.

Lastly while everyone's idea of "high grade" will differ I would call this entry level luxury.

I have considered purchasing this Watch in the past. Tissot is a good entry-level brand into the luxury world of Watches. Being a Unitas 6497 movement, which is a good, manual-wind movement, this Watch should be accurate and reliable. If you really like it, buy it!

Certainly one of the better looking skeletons.

    Enjoy

(I wouldn't put a metal bracelet on it, especially a black one, but it's up to you)

I'm sorry but tissot is not a luxury brand at least for me. It stands on the same level like certina, candino I would guess. Now regarding the watch - one of the best looking skeletons and trust others - no ss bracelet.

The watch is well regulated and sufficiently accurate especially if you find the right position when you take it off for the night.

I would change the colour of the strap if I wanted a different look but never put a bracelet on this watch.

Good quality, very popular world wide, lower mid-level.
Mechanical watches are seldom as accurate as their quartz cousins, but that one should be good enough form most tasks.
It would not look good wearing a black metal bracelet - and most black metal bracelets will start shedding black finish fairly fast leaving you with a rather ugly black bracelet with silver speckles, ugggh.

The squelette is very well thought of, especially when it comes to skeletons. I'm not sure how good it would look on any bracelet - probably best to stick to leather on that bad boy.

I like this watch except it's too big for me. And I agree with the others, no bracelet (especially not a black metal one) on this watch. It would ruin the look.

Tissot is a nice brand with a good history, and to 99.5% of the real world, is a fine luxury watch. It's only when you step into the madness of watch collecting that you find out Tissot is considered an entry level luxury watch, but that's because you can easily spend $20k, $40k, $100k and over (well over) for watches. The fact that those watches exist does nothing to diminish the quality of a Tissot. It's a fine mechanical watch.

I've owned a few Tissots and they have always served me well. Many of their current models are larger than I like to wear, though.
