    Off topic Please go vote!

To all my US member friends: make sure you exercise your democratic rights (nay, duty!) to vote, whichever side you swing.

People have died so that this right could be protected (WWI, WWII, anyone?) so make sure you honor the memory of all those people by voting!!!!!!!

Time for renewal in the US and hopefully in the world ....

Edit: As a Canadian and citizen of the world, I'm not looking to endorse anyone here; I'm hoping for change and renewal, whichever side it comes from!

PS: please encourage as much people around you to go fulfill their rights and duty!

    Re: Please go vote!

I'll keep this thread open as I think voting is pretty important too and not an issue to be taken lightly.

However, any replies to this must be NEUTRAL. Nothing wrong with telling people to vote. But do not take a position, as this will invariable lead to arguments and the mods will be forced to delete/shut down the thread to keep it on the level.

Done - now sporting an "I voted!" sticker in addition to my Seiko chronograph. :) I for one wouldn't mind seeing these stickers become more ubiquitous fashion accessories than watches (for once).

Been watching your election from the safety (boredom) of this side of the pond - it's much better than our elections.
However; while doing some reading I came across the followong which may or may not be widely known.

Of the 37 presidents before Carter at least 18 (or 21 depending on source) were close relatives - that makes nearly 50% to 60%

John Adams was related to Roosevelt, Nixon was related to James Monroe.
Franklin Pierce, James Garfield and Grover Cleveland were cousins; Benjamin Harrison was grandson of William Harrison, who were related to Jefferson, Jackson, Tyler, Coolidge, Truman and Johnson. The Roosevelt and Delano families were related to Grant, Washington, van Buren and Taft.
The research finished at Carter but when you add in the two Bushes, the percentage gets higher.
