Unhappy Please Help Me Find A Solution

I have appreciated watches for almost ten years and have owned as small diameter as 39mm and as large as 48mm. I am now 48 years old and am finding my eyesight is becoming more farsighted. Reading glasses are now a must when I am at work on my computer. When I look down at my watch, I am finding anything under 44mm is becoming to difficult to see. Furthermore, if it has a day of the month, it is a useless complication at any size diameter unless it has a magnifier which I dislike. I am finding contrast to be more important now (hand set is lighter and dial is darker). I recently sold a silver dial and silver hand set because it was difficult to read. The dial and day appear fuzzy to me even if I extend my arm out as far as I can. I don't want to have to use reading glasses to look at my watch. I have to believe there are others who suffer the same problem. What do you do or what suggestions do you have to help me enjoy wearing a watch again without readers? What watch do you wear that helps you avoid this problem? Thank you for your help.

    Do you wear glasses?

If you haven’t already done so, it maybe time to get the eyes checked again than getting new watches. Given some of the difficulty you’re having reading the watches I’d be concerned how else the vision is impaired (eg driving a car)

Thanks for your concern. I don't wear glasses. My distance vision is fine from a distance. I had my vision checked last year and had a prescription for reading glasses. No problem driving a car.

Here is my solution - high contrast during the day or at night. No date complication I need to worry about not being able to read. Large enough to see the time, even if things aren't especially sharp:

Nice Tudor. Is that a Ranger? What is the diameter?

I've seen watches posted here that have dials that look cream or white with black markers and hands. Damasko makes some, the real trick is that in low light or darkness the dial is what glows highlighting the hands and markers. I think these would be the easiest to see.

Yes, officially the Tudor Heritage Ranger. It's 41mm.

Not sure what your budget is but a Rolex Explorer II 42mm in either black or white is the answer. High contrast and a date you can see. Even though you hate the cyclops, there's not really any other method at a reasonable cost to see it
