    Pre-owned or New?

I'm looking for an Oris Aquis Clipperton. I see they can be had pre owned for about $1000 to $1200. I found an AD who has one for $1750.

What's the general consensus? Buy used or go super shiny?

Also taking into account there aren't that many out there since its limited edition.

Clipperton for 1k? Where and who is selling this watch for 1k? Sounds dubious to me. Are you sure you aren't confusing it with a regular Oris Aquis?

I have yet to buy a pre-owned watch which didn’t need a service upon receipt. Factor that into your decision. I only buy pre-owned if the model is no longer available new.

I've bought a couple used with no problems, but I researched the seller. I've skipped a few based on seller research as well.

Always buy used and save the initial 20% hit.

Only exception would be a Rolex at MRSP, but that is a very rare beast indeed.

On eBay today. Sold for $940. Was purchased grey initially. Also in this forum some have been sold for under $1200.

    I have only purchased new.
That's not to say I'll never purchase a pre-owned watch.

I don't buy brand new much these days. Except Rolex. Cuz I just can't trust most unauthorized Rolex seller.
