Quartz watches with separate battery compartment?

I'm just curious; are there any quartz watches that have separate battery compartments that don't require you to take off the whole case back and get into the guts of the watch?

Some early Seiko quartz models feature this but in my experience it rarely, if ever, happens on a new watch.

Suunto. Some older Marathon/Benrus field watches and CWC as well if I recall.

They've still got those. It's a big reason why I recommend Swatch. I'm not sure if any other new watches are made with a similarly easy-to-remove battery door.

Yeah. My Swatch (I think it's only a few years old) is set up like that.

Thanks. That's cool that Suunto and Swatch have got an easy way to change the batteries like that. I wish there were more that did that.

I only know Swatch but I remember the old days some Casio quartzs use to be the same.

Seiko 9F Quartz has the rotor and gear train in a sealed 'cabin' to protect the movement during battery changes. Brings the service interval out to 50 years (battery 2 - 3 yrs)
