    Question???

    Guys,

I had put my Hamilton automatic on top of my mobile phone for a good couple of hours and then thought what if my mobile can magnetize my watch??

I remember reading somewhere that mobiles do have tiny magnets in them.

    Am i being paranoid here....??

    Any comments?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rave.

Somebody posted something about this a coupe of weeks ago. I think it may be theoretically possible, but its unlikely to actually happen. Unless your watch has started to run significantly inaccurately, you are fine.

    Re: Question???

Well, anything that involves a changing electric current can usually produce an electromagnetic field -- this is the principle on which cell phones operate. However, in order for devices to be approved for sale in most countries they have to comply with limitations on the amount of interference they can cause, which makes me think that these things shouldn't be able to magnetise your watch.

    Re: Question???

I've never had it do anything to my watch but I know first hand that several times on vacation,m when you carry your cellphone and a your room keycard in the same pocket, the phone can screw up the key card making it in-operable.
