Question Question about selling watches and having ridiculous offer...

    Hi everyone ...

I have 2 used watch to sell in mint condition ...
Bear in mind that they are Canadian currency

    1 is Tissot PR100 300$
    1 is Tissot Carson PowerMatic 80 400$

is the price of those watch in mint condition are too high ?
cause the biggest offer was 125$ for the Pr100 and 225$ for the Carson ....
    all that on Kijiji ...

    What do you think ?

I think you should google these watches and check watchrecon and other sites to get a handle on what a reasonable asking price might be.
Plus keep in mind that most,if not all , offers will be on the low side. You just gotta play the game.

    I think:
    1) it's not polite to promote FS watches outside of sales forum
    2) compare prices to other listings on watchrecon
    3) Prices are way too high (cant comment on PR100 as there are many models, but PowerMatic 80 is way cheaper brand new in GM, so no way would I pay more for used)

We do not provide assistance in valuing watches. You need to do your own research.

I think this is a recurring issue. You are not the first asking and you will not be the last.

Thanks for the quote. I assure you I know our rules and guidelines. So rule 16 stands as it is.
To give you an opinion without pics or any further explanations to determine the overall conditions the watches are in is a bit....sparse.

    That simply isn't true.

    16. Valuations. Watchuseek does not offer valuations, nor do we recommend trying to have your watch valued online. Assessing the value of a watch is dependent on many factors, most of which require qualified persons having access to the watch directly. While members may provide their opinions as to the value of a watch, these are purely their opinions and do not represent WUS. If you need an value for insurance purposes, contact a qualified watchmaker who is certified for this activity (this varies from country to country), an auction house or a reputable watch dealer. The Complete Price Guide to Watches by Tom Engle, Richard E. Gilbert and Cooksey Shugart, published by Tinderbox Press of Mt Pleasant, SC, USA (commonly known as "Shugart") is a recognized starting point for watch valuations, but this does not represent a recommendation to use that book as anything but a starting point in determining your watch's value. As Watchuseek is not in the business of watch valuation, we will not recommend anyone, but members may address individual requests with their own recommendations.

Re: Question about selling watches and having ridiculous offer...

It's not worth your time to even answer Low-Ball Offers. Anyone haggling for so little probably doesn't have the money anyway and would back out of the deal.

You have to actually write No Low-ball Offers in your FS add.

Or you can state that the price is firm.
