    Raymond Weil opinions

Hi I was looking at the freelancer watches by Raymond Weil and tried to do a little research. I wasn't able to find what movement they used. Where do they rank as far as quality? I was reading that people consider them a fashion watch, what does that mean? Would you recommend the brand?

Gotta be carefull, just the mention of RW and it'll wake up the Fashion
Police on watch forums. Used to sell them and I sold a bunch, like em.
My only gripe was that crappy box they used to have.

What does fashion watch mean? I think of it like fossil or Calvin klien. Are they really in that category?

No, they are not in that catagory. In my opinion they are a good step above that catagory of watches, but not at the same level as, lets say, Omega.

I think RW basically uses ETA movements.

My wife has several men's RWs (she likes a larger watch) which I wear on occasion. They use ETA movements, visible through the exhibition backs on several models. I have found the fit-and-finish to be good. Also, the designs are nice, but not very iconic or innovative. As stated above, they aren't in the Omega class, but you aren't paying anything like Omega prices.

I had a catch and release Freelancer. There was something about that day / date and sporty dial that was very attractive. Its a nice design, solid case & bracelet, and the movement and timekeeping was fine for me. But I never wore it, and sold it.

But in the end, it is your opinion that matters most!

Yea something about the freelancer with a black dial is sexy to me. I was just making sure i wasn't buying some piece of crap. I never really see people saying much about them.
