    Raymond Weil vs TAG Heuer?

Looking into getting a new watch look at Raymond Weil Nabucco steel/titanium and TAG Heuer Carrera Calibbre. I would like to know what you think about both watches.

    both are nice watches ...
good company, good movements on those 2 ... I can sorta see the style you're looking for as well

may I ask why you're considering those 2? what's the purpose of buying the watch?

    there's also a thread on the RW ~ https://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/opi...ar-117999.html

Re: Raymond Weil vs TAG Heuer?

I personally prefer Tag over Raymond Weil for the fact that many of their designs aren't direct copies of their competitors.

    See here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/wher...ng-529760.html

They make nice quality watches and may even have better finish that Tag for the price but on principle alone I'm not a fan. The Tag I have is only ok, nothing great but a solid piece nonetheless.

For a lot of reasons I'd prefer Tag over Raymond Weil, however both brands do not belong to my favourites.
    Kind regards

Re: Raymond Weil vs TAG Heuer?

I agree with MZ on Tag. About a year ago A local AD was clearing out Tags at 30-50% and I was soooo ready to pull the trigger on a Carrera chrono, until I tried it on. I can't put my finger on why, but I was rather disappointed with the feel of the watch. I have Accutron autos that are more substantial and constructed just as well or better for 1/5 the price. I have no experience with RW except for handling a quartz model which was a nicely made watch.

I own a Nabucco and I have found the fit and finish to be better than most Tags I have owned. RW doesnt have anywhere near the history but given your choice the Nabucco would win.

I've seen Richard Mille and H. Moser & Cie sold in a mall, plus quite a few others of
equal level. My former store is in a mall and for a short time we sold Roger Dubuis, Eberhard and Carlo Ferrara.
