Question Request for the Watch Elite

Hi everybody - I've enjoyed my time on the forum.

I am in the market for a watch, and keep stumbling over finding the set of features I am looking for.

I am looking for a titanium bracelet watch - with a sapphire-quality face (to keep from scratching.) Analogue - ideally with date and alarm - and nothing with an over-sized face. I like the Oceanus below (which I haven't read much about). Does this spark any suggestions from anybody? I think I am also growing partial to the darker watch faces.

I really appreciate any input, and all the information I've already gotten!

    Thanks!

Wow - thanks much for the fast reply!

The bracelets in some of the above seem to be stainless steel. Do you know of any others with titanium - or something along the lines of the black-like titanium above?

I have the ani-digital version of the Oceanus you have pictured. Fantastic watch! All titanium (case and bracelet). Keeps perfect time thanks to the atomic sync (depending on your location) and you can't beat the solar charge. The lume is poor but it's got a backlight!

Good luck in your search, let us know what you settle on!

    Ironhide -

I'm glad I found another Oceanus user. I was also looking at the Ball Fireman (probably 40mm) and I noticed you have the 43mm fireman listed as a "want" - do you prefer the Oceanus or the Ball?

My female "advisors" tell me they think the Oceanus is too 'sporty' for suit-wearing environment.

I've not owned either brand but I'd go with your female advisors on this one.
Ball is definitely 2 or 3 steps up the food chain vs. Oceanus and will hold it's value much better I think.

Tragic is spot on here, the Ball wins hands down on all fronts. Of course, these are two very different watches, but w/o question I'd go for the Ball. I actually *own* a 43mm Fireman with blue indicies and it is by far one of my favorites. Can be had for not much more than the Oceanus and is way more versatile, not to mention build quality/fit & finish are much higher in comparison.

Get the Fireman with the bracelet, then pick up a few aftermarket leather straps - you'll score yourself a nice automatic timepiece that you can literally wear with anything & for any occasion. Plus how cool are those tritium tubes!!

Re: Request for the Watch Elite

Thanks again for all of the advice. I have decided to go with the Ball Fireman 40mm (Orange). I contacted a few of the authorized dealers who were mentioned in these forums, obtained a price match, and the watch is on its way.

Thanks again for the suggestions - I definitely benefited from the input I received here.
