RESCO Patriot: Seconds hand going counterclockwise?

I've spent a few days with the Patriot already and I love the watch so far. It feels right, not too heavy not to light. It's easy to read the time...

This morning though I noticed that the time was running 15+ minutes slower. I don't know when it happened or how. Last night it was accurate (it's been very accurate since I received it), this morning when I woke up the time was still ok and then I check the time and I noticed it.

So I try to reset the time to the correct one. It's hard to do with a non-hacking watch. I pulled the crown twice to the time-setting position and I started rotating it slightly until the hands began moving but I went to far ahead so I move the hands counterclockwise and I notice that the seconds hand stop and sort of vibrates... then I did it again this time sort of beginning to move the hands but not really moving them and the seconds hand began going back, counterclockwise.

I don't really know the Slava movement. Is this a known *feature*? Sort of a "setting the seconds"? or it's something that is not supposed to happen?

I contacted Nicole at RESCO and I am still waiting to hear from her but I just wanted to know your opinion.

The watch seems to be running OK now.

Edit: I have an email from Nicole at RESCO and the watch is going for service, along with some customizations I am performing on the face and dial.
Nicole was really helpful. They have a really good customer service.

Those are symptoms of a tight cannon pinion. Try not to set it in the counter-clockwise direction. You are causing the escape wheel to turn backward and is dragging the wheel teeth over the pallet stones in a direction they are ill-equipped to handle. Excessive operation in this manner may cause damage to the pallet stones

Thank you for the info. Do you think I should send it for repair or service?

This happens to me every time I cross the equator going north to south.

What do you mean? The time going back 15 min?
