Return or Sell My New Watch

I just purchased a new Welder K26-3601. The watch is to big and it doesn't look nice on my wrist so I want to return it. I bought out of the country on Zakwatch.com and they will accept my return and refund less $40 shipping from Swiss to US. Additionally I have to pay to ship it back.

On amazon the watch is $750 and I paid around $315.

Do you think I should just sell the watch rather than return it so that I don't lose the $40-$80 on shipping costs.

How long do you think it will take to sell?

How one much effort is it to sell a watch?

I dont one want to keep the watch but I'd rather not lose the $80.

Just return it and take the monetary hit. I've never heard of this brand end it would likely sit on the sales for him for a long time without any action. Plus, you have to worry about getting ripped off by whoever buys it. Also, I'm guessing if you paid $315 for it you would take more than an $80 loss by selling it here.

Agree. Return it. Obscure brands can be ultra cool or absolutely lethal.

You can do some research on our Sales Corner and see if they have come up for sale, what they've sold for (fair market value), and how long it takes them to sell (demand). Be aware though, if you want to list the watch there you'll need to be a member for at least 90 days and have a minimum of 100 posts (no speed posting allowed).

Just return it. It's a used watch now (even if you barely wore it), and it's a brand very few people will ever have heard of. It's really unlikely that you can sell it for more than you'd get returning it. Just be grateful the store will take it back, and get the whole thing done quickly so you can forget about it.

I've heard of Welder before. They are U-Boat inspired methinks and not bad build quality though I've only seen quartz. They are certainly Sly Stallone-ish so that is enough reason to let one go imo ;). The type of guys with an interest in fashion and enough money & passion for watches but no traditional watch knowledge seem to be their target market - so I bet you could flip it on Kijiji relatively quickly and without a loss. If it were me, I'd still take the hit and use the hassle free return policy.

Here's a random Welder for those interested:

Mineral crystal, Miyota quartz, 100M water resistance. And I'd guess something of that kind of style in a japanese quartz would be a tough sell. In terms of resale, unless it has gotten very trendy, it's just another "fashion watch".
