    Rolex GMT decision

    Hi all,
Looking to get a Rolex GMT. Need to add colors and GMT to my collection (pic attached). Mostly wear business casual. Have a SubC date.

The choices are BLNR (10k), BLRO (way overpriced), vintage Pepsi/coke (8k)

Like the BLNR. Bracelet is cool. Nice business watch but too close to sub and not as much color.

Haven’t seen the BLRO in flesh. The blue is a bit purple and red a bit pink. Not sure if I like the jubilee either. I am in my early 40s and jubilee just looks like an old mans watch.

Like the vintage Pepsi on oyster. Is it worth the price tag?

I have 6.5-6.75” wrist. Not all attached pics are my wrist..

I have a 2005 16710 Pepsi with about the same wrist size as you...

Prices are going up on these.

If I went for the new stuff, I would go for the Batman. While I generally like the new Pepsi, but not enough to trade up. I'm also not not a fan of the jubilee bracelet or the slightly off ceramic bezel colors (just my opinion). In person, the blue and red are a bit lighter than in the studio photos, with the red being almost pinkish, in bright sunlight.

My problem with vintage Rolex watches is that it's hard to find one that hasn't had the chamfer on the lugs affected by polishing, which is a problem that chamfer on the narrower lugs is one of the things i like most about those older cases in the first place.

Short version, can you accept a vintage model that isn't going to be 100% as it was originally?

I'd buy the 16710 soon. They don't appear to be getting any less expensive.

Buy a 16710, then order some OEM bezel inserts from an AD, which isn't that expensive. On that model, they made the all black, the pepsi, and the coke. So essentially, it's like having 3 watches in one!

The new Pepsi is made of unobtaininium and the colors just throws me off. Batman is nice, but I'm not a fan of the newer case proportions.

That looks great. Thanks for the pic. Last year they were around 6-7k. The cheapest now are around 8-9k

Blow the BLNR looking a bit Subby. Pull the trigger
