Rolex GMT Master II Batman vs Omega Planet Ocean Chrono 9300

    Hi again,

I am interested in your thoughts over the 2 watches, both from a movement quality and aesthetic point of view. Some of you know my toils of selecting my next watch, and I am leaning towards a chrono, but like the thought of either of these on my wrist (both would be better obviously) And what is the difference between the standard Bezel and the Batman bezel for the rolex (besides $1000)?

    Best

    Andrew

Both movements are fine. They look different and wear different. Try them on and decide which is best for you.

    GMT Master II Batman.

Because it's called Batman. The 10 year old in me demands this.

Depending on the bezels, the GMT hand is blue (blue/ black bezel) or green (black bezel). The color of the text on the dial: GMT Master II is respectively: white and green. There are no other differeces that I'm aware...but you may ask in the Rolex/Tudor sub forum.

About your question, GMT vs PO9300 I believe that your wrist and your taste are going to be much better "advisors" than me.

The Batman, the PO chrono 9300 is too large and too thick IMO.

I'd take the GMT Master II every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Is the GMT master II really known as the Batman?

Unless your a big guy the PO 9300 is just way too thick n big. GMT will be waaaay more versatile and a much better classic and timeless size. For me a second time zone for distant relatives and frequent traveling is also far more useful then a chrono.

    The Blue/Black bezel version is.

I like both watches. While there is a serious possibility that I will add a Batman to my accumulation this year there is no chance I will add a 9300. The reason is the 9300 is just too large for MY wrist. If my wrist were larger it would be a MUCH more difficult choice between the two and I might very well go with the PO Chrono I am a huge fan of the new Omega movements and have three 850X, while the Rolex 3186 is a fine movement it is covered and has little to no "sex appeal" to me.
