    Russian watches

Good day to one and all,

I am new to the forums and to the world of watch collecting and appreciation in general. Currently I own just an Aviator MIK-29, a gift from my wife.

I am just curious as to why Russian watches aren't mentioned on the forums more often - a brief skimming through the pages and I did not notice any threads dedicated to them, and they are hardly quoted on any of the classics or desired watches threads.

Personally I think Aviator, Dennisov and Poljot watches are very appealing to the novice's eye, especially if the inconvenience of winding them is not a problem.

What is your opinion on Russian watches in general, and for lovers of them like myself, what are your favourite brands and makes?

    Regards,

    Eugene.

    Re: Russian watches

There's an entire sub-forum devoted to the discussion of Russian watches.

I know the guys in Affordables also love their Russians. I have fancied a vintage 24h dial made in the days of the USSR but something inside of me says that an 80s Russian is no match for a 50s-60s Swiss.

I recently acquired a Vostok Europe Ekranoplan. I really love it. I have several Swiss mechanical watches, but absolutely nothin wrong with this one. Ofcourse the advantage is that it costs much less than the traditionals.

    Best regards,

    Hi Eugene,

Weelcome to Watchuseek and welcome to the Public Forum as well. I highly recommend yoo re-post your question on our Russian Watches Forum.

Out of a collection of 20 russian watches these two are left, all others have been sold over the years

    Kind regards

My apologies, I did not know there was a Russian watch subforum!

I will repost the topic, but I still do welcome the opinions of members of this forum on Russian watches.

    Thanks!
