Sacrificed my Watch Budget for Wife "Push Present"

Since around March... a month after I found this site, I began saving for a Grand Seiko. They just caught my eye. My mom and grandpa both had a Seiko when I was growing up, so so high end Seiko sounded perfect!

For the last 7 months, I squirreled away money. I finally had enou enough for the GS I wanted. The SBGA127 caught my eye after watchi the AZ Fine Time video. The I saw one in real life in Vienna!! WOW!!!

Last weekend I was in Phoenix and went to AZ Fine Time and tried it on. They had the brown Hi-beat LE in stock, so I chose to think about it and come back the next day.

Conversation with my friend, texting with my wife (who stayed home in Alaska) and conversation of rose gold hoop earring came up. On that same trip where I saw the blue dial GS, my wife also had found some Bulgari earring she just loved.

Lo and behold, there was a Bulgari store in Scottsdale. The next day, I went an bought the wife earrings and not my watch I save so long for...

I couldn't get a decent shot for the life of me with the real things and she didn't want to take them off...

My wife is pregnant, and the ladies at the Bulgari store asked if was a push present? Never heard of one before, but I guess it I :)

Anyone else ever sacrificed their watch budget? Or refused to??? :)

PPS - my phone types weird on this site, please excuse the typos above.

Good for you, it's always fun to buy presents for ones you love!
I sold my Omega Seamaster 300 from the sixties for my Wife's Nomos Tangente Erika.

Do I regret it? Sometimes but she loves her Nomos so it's ok.

Re: Sacrificed my Watch Budget for Wife "Push Present"

I've held off a watch purchase because my partner needed money for her business.
That is about as far as I would go.
    Earrings vs a Watch.
    is that even a question?

    +1 on this bro.

We are men, doing things like this comes with the territory.

[Edit] BTW congrats to both of you!

Re: Sacrificed my Watch Budget for Wife "Push Present"

Yeah, I learned about "push presents" when I had my first. I thought to myself "here we go again, another manufactured marketing phenomenon to keep the wheels of capitalism turning" that was until I saw what my wife went through. 19hrs of pain and suffering, call it what you like but she deserved a freakin' medal. You did the right thing man, hope she enjoys those nice earrings and good luck with the delivery!
