    Sacrilege

This strap came with a Breitling bought on ebay. Fantastic quality as you would expect: beautifully thick but supple leather; a lovely deep brown outer; super-soft inner. Even the lettering oozes class.

But look what some clown has done to the lug ends! So the strap now looks stupid on both the 24mm lugs it was designed for and the 18mm lugs it was butchered to fit.

I'm not in favour of capital punishment but for this I'll make an exception

I'm guessing the strap was used with end links from a stainless steel bracelet and was cut to fit where the center link was recessed into the strap.

This is not a splendid photo but shows the fitment I'm referring to.

Your strap was cut in the reverse order of the way the one pictured is made to fit the end links. That's my guess, probably looked OK on whatever watch he had it on.............

No it was a 24mm band cut to fit 18mm lugs, the cut outs was to give it "shoulders".

Looks to me like perfectly normal leather strap...moving along.

And how do you know it looks stupid on a 18mm watch? Maybe it looks great?

I've never understood the look of having a leather/rubber strap attached to the endlinks (if that is the case here). It looks weird. Either go all in with a bracelet or put the watch head on a strap, but don't do both.

Doesn't look that bad to me - cuts fairly clean and at right angle.

Remember - it was HIS strap - that means he gets to do whatever he wants to with it.
Why did you buy it if it bothers you this much?

I have a watch that just has a leather strap on it with spring bars and it works out fine, I like it. The watch pictured is one that the company sells a strap to fit as shown. I like it also. This seems a case for personal taste I'm sure of that.

Definitely a personal taste thing, though my opinion shouldn't count for much, my wife says I'm fashion-blind lol
