SalonQP in London - 3rd to 5th November

Who here is planning to attend?

What are you looking forward to seeing?
    Exhibitors - Salon QPSalon QP

Lots of the same manufacturers as before, and to be honest I don't know much at all about some of the 'newer' names (Dennison, Fears).

It will be good to see Robert Loomes with their new movements.

I have been for the latest couple of years but giving it a miss this year. I normally go to hang out with the Schofield guys and hear Giles' presentation, but they are not going this year.

I did think that last year it was getting more dominated by the big manufacturers. Still worth a visit, but I do find these things get to be less and less interesting as they become more popular - much more crowded and more difficult to get a close-up look or hands-on with the watches or any attention from the people on the stands. I'm always interested in what Urwerk are doing, but couldn't get within ten feet of them last year!

Still a better show for the 'consumer' than something like Baselworld though.

I find the marketing tactics of Fears to be a little bit concerning, launching your first ever watch in that room is a risky play, it could end up looking quite poor in comparison to some of the stuff around it.

I'm going to try and make it, but can only do the Thursday evening due to travel - which is the slightly silly cocktail party thingy - so I'm not 100% sure yet.

I may be a little bit overly into Japanese watches. Maybe.

I get what you mean. I don't tend to spend too long at the larger manufacturers as you can try their watches on and speak to a generic salesperson at one of many places across London.

The independents are always more fun and more interesting to go and see, and that's certainly where I'll spend most of my time.

Does "I wish I could" count?

Inside 2 weeks...something about an $1800 plane ticket that is a tad discouraging......

Been the last two years. Applied for some free tickets from Christopher Ward but my number hasn't come up. Not that bothered this year, though. Maybe next.
