    Sand + rotating bezel = ?

Im going to the beach in a few weeks and want to wear my watch. Have any of you ever taken your watch into sand? I was planning on throwing it on a nato strap for the week but im having second thoughts....

I wouldn't... would you rub that watch (any watch for that matter - rotating bezel or not) against bit of sandpaper?

save yourself some possible grief and get a $100 G-shock and wear that to the beach instead :)

Sure, but I don't buy watches to baby...

them. Pretty much every really water resistant watch I have has been on the beach. Never had a problem that rinsing the watch under warm fresh water and turning the bezel didn't cure. Now I probably wouldn't bury my watch in the sand but hanging out doing beach stuff with the kid and surfing are no problem. And FWIW normal beach sand most places is way softer on a watch than sand paper which is really aluminum oxide, ie corundum, ie sapphire.

That TAG is rated for 500m...take that out & let it do what it was built for...swimming, snorkeling, diving, sand :)

Enjoy your watch on the beach. A little sand will do no harm. You better believe that Tag has anticipated such wild and reckless behavior. The watch will be fine. I'd be more worried about baking it under a hot sun. You can wash it off after the beach, soap it up and turn the bezel under a faucet to clear it if sand gets in there.

That's just crazy! How could abuse a watch in such a way? What are you going to do next, make a sand castle? The watch will be fine, if your Tag can't handle a trip the beach it's time to flip it anyway.

My watches live with me - not the other way round. My Titan Small Seconds has seen some beach time and came to no harm so give the TAG a holiday by the sea.

Sand + rotating bezel = grinding sensation under the bezel

Why do you want to wear a watch on the beach?
