    SARX 035/Citizen Grand Signature Classic

I own a SARB 035. I've been looking for a larger (between 40 & 42mm) black dial of similar design for less than $1000. I've been pretty set on the SARX 035. I've only recently become aware of the Citizen Grand Signature Classic & I'm now leaning toward it. I like its larger 22mm bracelet compared to the 20mm of the Seiko & its seems I can get this for a few hundred less than the SARX. To my eyes the dials are similar enough that I don't necessarily like one particularly over the other. I've never held either. Is the finish & quality of the Citizen equal to the more expensive Seiko? Am I missing some other alternative?

    SARX 035/Citizen Grand Signature Classic

I remember not really being blown away by the three I've seen from that line

I personally would go for the SARX but if you’re leaning towards the Citizen listen to your heart.

Don’t have a SARX but was considering the same when I picked up my Grand Signature. I still love it, the blue hands, the well done lume, and what has to be the most comfortable bracelet on any watch I’ve ever owned.

Wish I owned both, both are stunning watches.

I've never seen the citizen, but the Sarx is a stunningly beautiful watch. Something someone could be happy with as an only watch

I have two Grand Signature watches. Excellent finishing, quality, etc. Easily on par with the Seiko at this price point, IMHO.

The Citizen definitely has the better movement of the two.

If you can handle the Citizen Grand Signature Classic's 42 mm, I would go with the Citizen.

Both the quality of the Grand Signature Classic and its 9010 movement are reportedly better over the Seiko Presage SARX035 and its 6R15 movement. Plus, the 9010 movement has a nicer finishing over the 6R15 movement.

Personally prefer the Seiko but the citizen is comparable in quality.

My heart is a fickle tramp lusting over what it doesn't have. I don't trust it for a moment!

Right now it wants a deep black dial, baton indices and a chunky ss bracelet that really catches the light & your attention. If the SARX had a 22mm bracelet I wouldn't have a second thought. The Citizen has the wider bracelet, apparently a better movement & equal finishing but...I've just noticed some pics the dial looks almost blue & that sir, is not deep black. Fickle heart. I suppose this will really come down to price and availability for me. Neither is "perfect" both are very nice. Thanks for your thoughts.
