Scratch on the mineral Glass of a water resistent watch - Replace it or Polish it???

    Hi,

My Casio Pro Treck 130y has a deep scratch on the mineral glass.
Replacing the glass cost me around €20 (around $25). And I prefer this solution instead of polishing it - I don't know what can I use to polish and for how long I need to polish...
Now, changing the glass compromises the 200m waterprofness of the watch? I use the watch when I do some diving (no more than 5 meters deep).
What do you think? What is the best solution?

    Thanks in advance
    Miguel

I've never had any luck polishing mineral crystals which is why I don't like them. Acrylic polishes fine and sapphire resists scratching. Mineral crystals do neither.

Miguel, If it's a deep scratch I would have the crystal changed and if you intend to get it wet have the watch pressure tested.

I thought you can't polish mineral glass at all...
It doesn't matter how much the watch costs, it only matters if it makes your heart tick.

I was under the impression that diamond paste could do the job.

Diamond paste can, you can buy them in 3µ(microns) and .25µ tubes, normally together in a bundle.
Apply the 3 first, then the much finer .25 to make it glass and gorgeous again.
