Searching for watches a hundred years from now

I have this picture in my minds eye, of all these really great watches, in perfectly good shape, lying miles under the sea.
Now jump into hundreds of years into the future, and some adventurer has found a way to locate all these Grail watches, and Is having a very wonderful life off the profits of these pristine artifacts from the past. Historians are searching watch archives to determine the lineage of these time pieces to determine how they arrived were they were found. And in some cases how the bones some of them were attached to expired.

Huh? Oh i get it..i have 1 too..
Many years from now when mankind is gone n a new human species has evolved, they'll see watches hanging on trees like fruits; children will pick up watches like seashells on the beach; animals will wear them around their necks n Big Ben will be the new religion.

Wouldn't all these "grail" watches be rusted into oblivion after "hundreds of years" at the bottom of the ocean?

Well, except for the g-shocks, of course. And maybe the Suuntos...oh, and some of the Timex Ironman...

    Never mind.

Let alone the technology being antiquated to the point that there'd be no more satellites to sync or link to for the time, there's be no more capacitors or batteries to replace the outdated junk in these watches. Wouldn't matter what the watch was, nothing would survive, not even a plastic junker like a g-shock or Ironman. Their plastic dials/faces would be cracked at the very least and everything inside would be corroded.

Since I am immortal, I will check on this in a hundred years and get back to the board with my findings.

I'm pretty sure the sun will still be shining in 100 years and all those Tough Solar Gs will be going strong! I don't know what a Timex Iropnman is - we don't have Timex down under.

I'm pretty sure 100 years from now we won't be able to think about watches because the "damn dirty apes" will not let us have any.
