Just keeping this updated; I have heard of an official RedBar Seattle in the planning stages, so rather than duplicate efforts I'll suggest everyone wait for an announcement.

Having lived in Seattle (Green Lake area) many moons ago, I always had great experiences with Fox's. The fella that helped me (wish I remembered his name) was quite knowledgeable, horologically speaking, and we had a nice conversation. Even got to try on an Omega tourbillion (don't remember the model) and a Big Pilot.
Walked out with a Speedmaster Pro after trading in my Rolex Date. Twas a good day.

I'm in Everett.Tried last year to put something together with the Canucks up in Vancouver & anyone in Seattle but no one showed any interest...
4 1/2 month old thread (see signature) that seems to have fizzled out. I'm 5+ hours away and may consider it, if the timing is right, etc. Portland would def. work out better for me - just saying.

I have found that some people just like to hear themselves typing.

People in the NW don't like to GTG. The "Seattle Freeze" is real :)
I'm in Seattle, and I'd be up for a meet up if someone manages to organize enough people...
Also, just an FYI -- Recently Fox's stopped carrying all watch brands except Nomos. They previously had Bell & Ross, Zenith, Bremont, Muhle Glashutte, and maybe a couple of more?
When I found out that an "official" RedBar meet was being planned I stepped away from the process.
We've had a couple meets in Seattle in the past, one with a decent turnout.
I mostly live on another forum these days and find myself hanging with the friends I've met there.
The one where we had decent attendance here was put together by TYCLU & me together. We met at A bar & grill in Seattle with about eight folks attending, mostly from WUS and a couple from TRF (I posted everywhere). Jason from Halios also made the trip down.
If someone here wants to take the initiative to plan something, I'm sure a decent response would be the result. I just don't have the time for the planning right now.
Here are some tips for the potential organizer:
- plan well in advance
- post on multiple forums and bump it weekly
- do NOT publicly post location information On the forum (lots of expensive watches will be there, we never know who is reading)
- have interested parties PM you if they want to attend, then get email addresses and provide updates to location by email
- reach out to those potential attendees personally, as a general "I'm interested" often results in a no show.
- be sure to find a place with a semi-secure room to handle the planned group size (I'd suggest knowing that before setting a date or location)
Two last points:
- don't use "Red Bar" as I believe that is trademarked now.
- if you're interested in an actual RedBar GTG, I'd suggest reaching out to Craniotes (Adam) directly, as he is the founder of RedBar. He's easy to find on all the forums.
Depending on when & where I would potentially be able to attend.
If someone takes the lead and this starts to materialize, PM me and I'll toss a couple ideas your way, regarding possible AD/host support.
Best,
Hoppy
I see TradeKraft drudged up an old PDX GTG over in f71. I don't know if it is in lieu of the Seattle one, or for both areas?
Maybe combine and post on f2, if not everywhere!
