It's a shame these won't work anymore since analogue TV signals were switched off worldwide...

I remember one of my classmates (he was from Japan) had one of these in the 7th grade. I wanted one so bad! lol. It had my Casio "Watchman" beat by a pretty wide margin.

You just need to find an adapter to hook the watch up to a digital converter box. Then, umm... carry around a digital converter box and watch TV when you find places to plug it in I guess.

Yes Seiko had several interesting and technically advanced digital watches back then. The UC2000 interfaced with a UC2100 keyboard database computer. And all those wonderful stainless steel cased 4 button multifunction lcd watches.

They didn't work that well anyways. Had a classmate who had one back when they came out. He pretty much almost never got a signal.

Still even with all of us just looking at a postage stamp size screen full of snow, he was the most popular kid in my middle school class.

A thread like this wouldn't be complete without the reference to Bond, James Bond.

In color and in high definition? Back in 1983? Fuhgeddaboudit!
