    SKX crown stuck/stiff

So I went to use my skx013 after it sitting in my watch box for a while and the crown is incredibly stiff to the point where I can only move it using my nails on either side. I was able to get it fully unscrewed and I can barely move the hands. Has anyone run into this before? Wondering if there's any tricks to try on it before I pay the local watch shop to fix it.

Yes. I did have that happen with the same watch. I brought it back to the Jewelry store I purchased it at and they sent it to Seiko or a Seiko repair facility to be fixed. It came back with a new crown/stem. It was $60.00. I did not lift a pen, make a call or send an email. It was an easy process and the store did everything.

Take it to a pro to be safe, IMHO.

Trying to loosen it and/or continually playing with the crown could cause further damage.

Yeah, sounds like it's time for a service, possibly due to corrosion. It's only going to get worse if you wait so get it checked out.

Personally, given the price of a new SKX013 isn't that much, I'd give the Seiko Service Center a shot at it first.

Thanks guys, I'll give the service center a shot. Bought it off of ebay so who knows how long it was sitting in stock before I bought it.

When you take it in ask for a quote for the repair work first.
