So I remember now why I donít wear watches

Bought a seiko 5 after years and years of not wearing a a
watch and I have to say that I like it a lot. Problem is I forgot I had it on and started working out with a kettle bell and scratched the hell out of it already!
    Guess I need to be a g-shock Guy 😬

Seiko 5s are meant to be beat up and not babied... they are tough mechanicals. Leave that to the Patek Boys.

Remember that weights and watches don't go together? Especially kettle bells, lol.

For the sort of use you put it to the 5 sounds like the ideal mechanical watch. If you want absolute toughness though you can’t beat a G.

You could try wearing it on the inside of your wrist. This may give it a little more protection, or not, lol

In a way I’m glad the first scratch is on it, I bought it to be a user, I plan on wearing it with a uniform. Does anyone know of a good silicone band that will go on it’s narrow 18mm bars? I have a nato on it now but I’m not sure I like it as it looks a little dainty

Not, I imagine, kettle bells can contact either side of the wrists

It would depend on your work or daily activity but wearing your watch on the inside of the wrist exposes it to belt buckles (seatbelts included), little rivets on jeans pockets, zippers, key rings and all manner of items we wouln't take notice of normally. Anything resting on your lap or on a table suddenly become hazardous objects, most people tend to rest their hand with inside of the wrist down while at a table or worktop and bracelet clasps seem to get scratched up long before the watch heads do.

Guess you need to remember to take off your watch before working out with kettle bells

Great! You just got a compelling reason to start a collection =1. Seiko 5 [daily beater], 2. G-Shock [workouts / rough activities]. Congratulations!
