    Something simple, sexy and sleek

I am new to the watch world and need help with some direction. I love watches that have a clean classic look, something simple and sexy. There are just so many beautiful watches and great brands that I was hoping you the aficionados could help recommend some great ones. I don't want to limit certain watches due to price range, but if you could include the price of your recommendation alongside just for my knowledge.

Some of the watches I love for their clean look are: Longines, IWC, and PP.

Finding a new Pythagore will be somewhat difficult.

K10: There is a big difference between Longines and PP--can you narrow your criteria a bit? Price range and valued features would be a good start.

I just meant to demonstrate a large range of watches so to not limit any. Price range is a non-criteria for I hope to find some dream watches that I hope to be able to afford later on in life as well as more affordable watches that I could look into now < $1000. Certain aspects of a watch that I would value is that it be automatic/self-winding, but beyond that I am looking for a distinct history and respect (I like the idea of the company still being independent), classic styling and simplicity. I tend to lean more toward leather bands and the colors brown, black and white.

As a place to start, models made by Tissot, Mido or Hamilton. Ball Trainmaster Power Reserve is another one on my list. It comes with a croc strap if desired.

Clean and classic? Anything by Jaeger LeCoultre -- the watch that watchmakers wear. Check out their Master Control and Ultra Thin lines. I own one, fantastic watches with real history and craftsmanship, reliable timepieces. Another two to consider is Piaget and Glashutte. Piaget makes excellent dress watches, high end, and Glashutte's dials are really attractive and well done, if you can see one in person, you will love them.

None of these watches is "blingy," which I hate. Instead they have understated elegance which screams "quality timepiece," and all of them are very reliable, especially JLCs, which tests them for 1,000 hours before releasing to the public.

If you can, avoid garbage "fashion" watches which are made from $10 parts, stamped with some worthless logo, and then sold at 5x to 10x markups -- you are literally paying many hundreds of dollars for a very cheap watch. Ask here if you have questions about a particular brand.
