SOTC, an update on where the collection is currently

It's Saturday night and am pretty bored as the Mrs is in Bali as I look after the kids (hmmmm, doesn't sound fair, that), so I figured that a SOTC may be in order to alleviate the boredom as have meant to do one for a while.

You may or probably may not have seen my previous posts on my collection, see here:

And then a follow up here:

Well the third instalment gives a radically different picture and you can definitely see a progression in my tastes.

Here is the full collection in its glory

As you can see I went a lot more upmarket than I had ever planned to, given I went through a phase of loving the vfm of the micro brands and used to love homages, but have gotten rid of pretty much all of them now. Over time I sort of graduated towards more expensive pieces, I guess my inner snob and brand consciousness got the better of me.

I am sure that it will change at some stage in the not too distant future as I think one of the most enjoyable things for me in this hobby of ours is the researching and receiving a new watch - nothing beats that rush of waiting for the postman to arrive and the unboxing ceremony

I know these posts are self indulgent, but it has passed the time well enough and I figure some will enjoy it as much as I do when people post their collections. Thanks for your patience, if you got this far.

What kind of strap is that on your speedy? I really like. Very nice collection!

You have a wonderful collection! You have made some serious progress. Have you considered flipping some of these and moving even more upmarket?

Thanks. Funnily enough its not so bad choosing - had a big problem when I had over 30 watches, but now, i find I can get through them all in a couple of weeks, and will end up wearing the new ones (the Rolex GMT & Glashutte) a little more given they are still in the honeymoon period. Probably wear the divers more often than not.

To be honest, this is probably as "high end" as I would want to get it at the moment coupled with the fact that the transition to a more expensive watch has only happened relatively recently so its all a bit new to me. Would find it hard to justify anything too much more expensive and when I went down to 8 watches I got bored as I like variety.
