    Special Edition Watches

For the life of me I don't know why anyone would want to pay several thousand pounds for a Lewis Hamilton watch. I have got absolutely nothing against Lewis Hamilton, but as far as I'm concerned if I want somebody's name on a watch I'm going to wear, I will go and buy a cheap Mickey Mouse watch. Do these watches sell for more in the future maybe? I have absolutely no idea, all I know is I don't want somebody's signature splattered across the front of the watch. The Omega watches are just as bad, they do a 007 version, how tacky can you get?

Many manufacturers do Editions with famous names on. I have always steered clear of those.
And when it comes to Omega and 007, that I have been wondering myself for many a year.

What will happen if they stop doing the 007 movies? Will Omega start with a Spiderman line?

I wouldn't want someone's name on my watch but some of the Bond models are nice, and others....

I wholeheartedly agree, I stay away from famous names. Although anniversary editions and names of places (e.g. Oris Maldives) are okay.

I am still waiting for Rolec Cayman DSSD. With the dial made out of (our farmed) Turtle shell.
In 18K gold, of course, this is Cayman after all!

Yes I agree completly. I recall the Roger Federer name associated with a couple of different brands and appearing on some watches. And more than one company has built some watches using the names of music legends and fictional book and movie characters. If someone enjoys wearing a watch that purports to pay homage to a character that is fine. I see such labels and the related advertising as tacky.

The Hamilton range are all cheaper watches aren't they? £1500 ish?
Now that he is no longer with McLaren they should be available with pretty large discounts I would imagine.
I like some of the Bond watches, the Skyfall in particular but others are less attractive.
Everyone is different. If Omega do release a Spiderman Ltd Ed can someone please let me know!

I know it is super tacky and not a very nice watch but when Diesel released their Batman Dark knight edition I was a little tempted.
