    Stauer

I know I'm going to take some heat here but I can't resist. What are people's thoughts on Stauer?

Stauer is a great watch if you want to outsmart a millionaire.

Not so much if you care for quality, design, or anything remotely interesting horologicaly speaking (I mean once they have a tachymeter bezel on a non-chronograph - what's there to look at)

    Re: Stauer

I'm not a snob against inexpensive watches. You don't have to wear a Rolex to have an awesome watch.

Stauer is hot, hot garbage to be avoided in an absolute sense. It has no redeeming qualities, other than being overpriced (yes, at the prices they charge it's overpriced) very low end Chinese junk.

So... yeah. You'll be much better served by buying Casio, Wenger, Momentum, Pulsar/Seiko/Lorus, Timex-- just about anything else in that price range.
Choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life because that field isn't hiring.

Before I knew anything about watches, I bought a Sauer moonphase. Cheap Chinese movement, poor finishing, and cheap bracelet. My $49 G-Shock is preferable to the Sauer. Run away. Run fast.

A Stauer is a great watch to save up for, and then use the money to buy a Seiko.

I'm sure they sell very well, great business model and clever marketing if you ever want to get into the watch industry. I'll bet they are laughing, all the way to the bank and at all the microbrands beloved in these forums.
