Steinhart Ocean One 39mm vs 42mm

I know there have been several threads about this topic, but they all seem to cover wrists around 7 - 7.25". I am thinking of picking one of these up, but I have 8" wrists. I am leaning towards the 42mm.

I know the Rolex is around 40mm, so I am wondering what a 39mm would look like on an 8" wrist. A sub is my grail watch, so wearing a 39mm is more representative of how a submariner would fit.

Any pictures of someone with a Rolex or Steiny (or any ~40mm diver) on a big wrist (8" or so)?

    Thanks for your help!

    Zach

It will wear small. I have 6.5” wrist and the 39 was perfect. With large wrist the 42 is a must

With your wrist size, you're better off with the 42mm version.

    ^^ This.

I was wearing the 42mm Steinhart OT500 today, here's a picture on my 18cm (7.1'') wrist. With an 8'' wrist I would definitely go for the 42mm version.

A 42 mm watch might be too small for a 8" wrist! 39mm would be way too small.

I have to agree with whats been said on an 8" wrist the 39 would wear small. One of the things I like most about steinhart is its 42mm.

Would agree with this. In fact, I had the Steinhart Ocean One 39 with green bezel, and chose to resell it fairly quickly because I felt it looked undersized on my 7-3/8 wrist. On an 8-inch wrist, you should do the 42, no question.
