Strap advice please (pO on stingray)

I could use some views on this ... thinking of a new strap for my Planet Ocean. I mainly wear it on the OE bracelet which is fantastic but sometimes it's on NATO for the sake of a change. For something really different I was thinking about sharkskin or stingray and came across this ...

From WatchGecko. They do a few versions with different stitching colours: orange, red, grey, beige, blue (I've shown the grey and red options here). Athough my PO has the rubberised orange bezel detail I think that orange stitches may just be overkill so if I do go for it it'd be the grey stitching as in the 1st picture.

This is the PO in question ...

So what do you think? Will it rock my Planet Ocean or is the combination just a bit OTT?

Go for it. Stingray straps look amazing. Here is one on an Alpina "Race for Water" chrono.

I think it's a great choice. I've been looking for a stingray, too. If you can use a color from the watch to match the accent stitch on the strap, you could have something that really works.

In terms of comfort, my Planet Ocean has always been best on relatively thick and heavy straps that can stand up to the weight of the watch head. I wonder if that stingray strap would be too thin. As far as looks, I think it would go quite nicely.

Thanks - I've been swaying between it's too 'shiny' to it looks great and also a little on the fence with the stitching colour. Orange stitch could be great with the highlights in the watch but I like that the grey is a little more subtle, if that strap could ever be called subtle ;) The PO dial and bezel move from black to grey depending on light so the grey stitch might be the one.

Thanks socolinsky, the strap is padded and lined so hopefully good on that aspect.

I love that strap but don’t think it will work on that PO. The watch is busy enough aesthetically and the strap is best suited to a plain watch with a light dial (that’s why it works really well on that DJ)

That's exactly what's been holding me back and the main reason I'd at least (almost) ruled out the orange ... too busy. But then I saw this:

Stingray will legitimize a Watch named “Ocean”. Just do it!

Here's a quick visualization what your PO might look like on the grey vs. orange version:

Looks really cool in my opinion, and I'd pick the orange one.
