Suggest a good automatic field watch

    Hello,

I am new here, but not new to watches. I have been reading the opinions of many, and I know there are dozens of very knowledgeable people here, so I am putting this out there for your advise.

Can anyone suggest a good automatic field watch? Price point under $600. Must be accurate, rugged, reliable, and easy on the eyes. No bracelets. On leather is preferred, but I will consider other bands.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I like this one quite a bit. When I bought mine last fall it was under $450 from Jomashop on leather. Victorinox Infantry Mechanical.

Stylish, good movement, several options (size, color, etc), and definitely within your budget. If you'd like to stay waaayyyy under $600, check out the Seiko 5 line (SNKxxx and SNXxxx) for example.

That's a ridiculous price though, even with the straps. I love the blacked out date frame on this watch - it's such a good match to the black trim on the hand set.

Take a look at the Hamilton Khaki Field lineup. Lots to choose from.

I already own a Seiko SNK809 which after having it regulated runs great. It is my everyday for now. Tell me about the Khaki Field. How long have you had it? How does it run? Accurate? If you don't mind sharing, what did you pay for it? Any issues or problems? Would you buy it again? Did you look at any other Hamiltons... like the Khaki King? If so, what made you decide on the Khaki Field?

I had a Khaki Field auto 38. It's a great watch. I think it's one of the best vfm watches available in a Swatch brand. The only reason I sold it was the lack of AR coating on the crystal. It has a very reflective crystal, but that may bother you less than it did me. It was quite an effort to get this shot of the watch with an (almost) glare free crystal:
