I am looking for a daily wearer with a stainless steel bracelet and 36mm case, blue dial, luminous stick markers, and the date at the 3 o'clock position. Preferably automatic but will consider quartz or manual, and upto £5000, but would prefer cheaper.
Rolex DateJust is the obvious choice, as are the old mid size AquaTerra, and the really old Vacheron Constantin Overseas, but I am interested in other (cheaper and preferably not pre-owned) suggestions.
Most of the obvious brands are too big, so suggestions welcome.
I paid $48 for this guy. (The day is black on weekdays, which looks better.) I'm thinking you intend to aim a little higher, but it's a 37mm in-house automatic with a gorgeous blue sunburst dial and surprisingly nice case finishing.
Seiko does blue dials well in general. A SARB045 is a steal at $600-ish, and a gorgeous blue quartz Grand Seiko is, what, $2000-ish?
Geneve is almost perfect apart from the inconsistent marker to the right of the date box. There should be a bit of metal marker same as at all the other hours, not a continuation of the chapter ring. This spoils it for me.
