Question suggestions & a List of good LI watch stores

Hi all: starting a new job so getting a lil gift of a watch for myself.

Nice watch for ~1-2K. thinking of something like this Oris:

    http://www.authenticwatches.com/oris...5814051ls.html or

    http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Lon...93.4.78.3.html

Want something to catch my eye, and would like to see it live before purchasing. Unfortunately the local Oris AD doesn't stock ORIS (believe that??)

LI Tourneau rep in Whitman Mall tried to steer me towards a Tourneau but it did not blow me away.

Any suggestion on a watch and any suggestions on the best Long Island watch stores (or some NYC stores-- i may have to go to NYC to view). Might even look at used. Only thoughts on what I want is a good watch to go with my suits or sportcoats, case to be 42mm or up.

    thks all!!!

EDIT: scratch that. The dealer I recommended doesn't do Oris.

Breitling Headwind (blue, brushed on Pilot bracelet)
    Omega
    Seamaster Professional Bond (black)
Tag Heuer Lewis Hamilton Aquaracer Calibre S (#3383/3500)
Tag Heuer Formula 1 (white dial)
    Hamilton Field Automatic (42mm, leather)
    Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 (2-tone)
    Fossil Speedway Chrono (blue)

If you're willing to venture into Queens, here's a good AD with tons of brands:

thks all--- was in NYC so hit tourneau on madison-- 2 shops had some oris but not the worldtimer

but i have to say that the Baume and Mercier look much nicer in person than on the inet IMO.

so thinking might go with one of the Classima executive watches--- 42 MM chrono (white or black) hmmm

PS - I used LI w to buy my seiko Monster but don't think he has oris or BM..

I may send note to the queens store--thks!!

I've seen both in person. IMO, the Longines' finish is much better.

A very reasonable Authorized Dealer in Flushing which carries Alot of Omega's and most Longines is Carat and Karat. Discounts are very negotiable. You should call first if they have a particular model in stock.

thks MOKO what about the finish looked better ? I thought that the longines was duller---and the B&M caught my eye....

online I thought the Longines looked better that in person, and the B&M looked better in person than online....

    IMO of course...

rjt65, on the above post I was actually comparing the Longines to the Oris.

The thing that you can't see online on the Longines is the guilloche pattern on the watch, which is very classy.

In regards to the Longines and the BM, both are really nice in person (I purchased both), and it's gonna be a tough choice. The Longines has a rounder smoother over shape, whereas the BM is bolder, edgier.

Haha than we are in agreement! though I did not get to see the artelier world timer the other oris in similar vein did not excite me per se.

So i did like the longines but the bolder B&M got me.

thks for the input! i will probably get it in a few weeks or whenever I get a chance to get to the store...

Thumbs Up Re: suggestions & a List of good LI watch stores

95% i am going with this one--? is from where? Amazon has good price and lowest is this

    http://www.jomashop.com/baume-8688.html

I pln to give a local guy who is in a Tourneu store the chance to be competitive... Lil more i prefer to get from him.

wanted to see a black one but 99% sure I am going lighter white-silver guilloche

love the little half view moon of the balance...
