    Summer sun and watch dials

No, not a thread about dial fade. This is a 1979 Carrera I picked up recently, one of a series of models with metallic-finished dials divided into three vertical sections. I was out the other morning and enjoyed watching the summer sunlight play across the dial. I decided to try to capture it in pics -- not entirely successful but here it is nonetheless. Anyone else have watches that catch the sun nicely?

    Cool shots! What's under the hood - caliber 12, 14 or 15?

    It's a 12, and a bit of a pig...won't hold a charge after I take it off. I'm thinking it needs a new mainspring....

That would be typical of those movements. Member chronodeco restored my Autavia caliber 12 and it works like a charm - but I do keep it on the winder.
