Swatch system 51- would any of you own one?

Pretty much says it all. They are fun looking- like the one that is in the picture that matches my icon. ?

Thoughts? Would you own one as an addition to an expensive collection?

a cute novelty but too expensive by far for what it is

No, not as an addition to any collection.

Maybe but it would have to be all black and cheaper by about $50.
    I still think I would prefer a Seiko 5.

To me, the appeal of a mechanical watch is repairing it and keeping it running for any years and eventually passing it on (though most of us here can't hold onto a watch for a year let alone many, but that's beside the point).

If I'm going to buy a throwaway watch it's gonna be quartz, at least that way you get ultra durability and accuracy out of it.

I wouldn't buy one, but I wouldn't be offended to receive one as a gift. It might not get much wrist time though.

I've kind of thought about it before but the price kills it for me. I'm not super in love with any of the designs. So they are just over that price threshold for me where I might just buy one on a whim as a novelty. If/when they come down in price I'd probably get one.

Not for me. Looks like a novelty watch or something one finds in a cereal box. It has some interesting stuff going for it, but not enough to warrant a 2nd glance from me.

I can't imagine paying $150 for the System 51 when I can buy a Seiko 007 for about 15 dollars more if I shop around.
I did go to Swatch store and checked one out for myself. I have nothing against the concept, but I honestly think it's massively overpriced - it is the Swatch group, after all.
