I know the WUS community is a pretty worldly group, but just in case I should explain that Thanksgiving is a day in the US where friends and family get together and thank their maker that they aren’t fans of the American football Dallas Cowboys. I’m a slow cook with a spotty track record (there’s a reason why you’ll find no pictures of the duck here), but my wife keeps letting me take cracks at the elaborate menus I plan then sort of execute. As the dishes came out, it dawned on me that watches might make great garnishes. Excuse the mess and the unfinished kitchen - for the most part these were live action shots.
Snacks with a Kobold USS Pittsburgh Chronograph:
Next up, Cream Biscuits with Cheddar Cheese and a RGM EOT Deck Watch:
Second course: Herb-Poached Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce shares the plate with a 1966 Bulova Accutron Spaceview (for some reason I associate shirmp cocktails with the mid 60s):
Soup's on! Roasted Cream of Carrot Soup and a Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale that's crowned with a Doxa SUB 1200T Searambler. With all the orange here DOXA was the obvious choice - even if I was too chicken to actually buy a Professional:
Bacon and Apple Stuffing and my Hamilton Jazzmaster Tonneau Chronograph:
Banana-Caramel Coconut Cream Pie with a side of Mido Multifort Pulsometer:
I don't have a Citizen Chronomaster, but if I did, this is where it would have been. In a nod to WUS, I present the beverage I finished the night with and the best beer I know, Trappistes Rochefort 10:
