Thinking About an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

I am thinking of adding this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak to the collection. It looks stunning with its trademark grey AP tapisserie dial and oblong rectangular-octogonal case shape. Plus, at $600, it looks like a steal. Other listings typically have it for around $5,000.

I think it might be a good complement to the more traditional octagonal APRO that I already have in my collection. Does anybody know about the history of this—what looks to be rarer—rectangular RO?
A happy owner of the Holy Trinity and two other haute horlogerie pieces:
    - Patek Philippe Calatrava ref 3919J cal 215PS
    - Vacheron Constantin Patrimony ref 31160/000J cal 1132.2 (based on Frederic Piguet 810 ebauche)
    - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref 56303SA (no-date version of 56175SA) cal 2612
    - Piaget ref 90802 cal 9P
    - Ulysse Nardin ref 4120-1 cal N10AA

    Why I love:
    - PP: Founded 1839, oldest family-owned watchmaker, most expensive watch ever sold at auction, at $24MM, is a PP
    - VC: Founded 1755, oldest watchmaker continually in existence, created most complicated mechanical watch ever made, with 57 horological complications
    - AP: Founded 1875, oldest watchmaker still owned by founding family, created world's first luxury sportwatch, the Royal Oak
    - Piaget: Founded 1874, created thinnest movement in 1957, the 9P, at 2mm thick
    - UN: Founded 1846, supplied marine chronometers to US Navy and UK Navy

Had one for awhile but liked the octagonal shape better so moved it out, much prefer my Reverso pieces for non round. . .

I see the octagon version a lot on tv. Jeremy Piven on Entourage... Damian Lewis on Billions.

With six days to go, pretty sure it will not be the "steal" you might be hoping for--personally I would look for something else if I already had one AP.

Never buy a watch because it’s cheap.

In the case of that watch it’s cheap for a reason (even though it will sell for higher than what it is now - 760)

As the forum has stated unlikely you get the price you want and it is a meh watch overall.

I would run from this deal. Don't buy cheap watches.
