Why is the crown a different color than the case? Is it made of bronze?

Colorful and interesting. But at $2,100 usd I'm probably out.

And dare I say that 39mm might be...too small.

Yes, a bronze crown has been a signature design element of theirs since the beginning. You either love it or hate it. I wasn’t convinced at first but I gave the Lander GMT a chance. It’s been my favorite watch purchase to date and I ended up digging the bronze crown.

Not sure where you’re seeing $2100, they are listed as $1950 USD on their website.

Regarding size, their watches can wear small if you have a preference for larger cases. The 39mm case though shouldn’t be your reference point. It’s the 44mm lug to lug that will make it wear smaller on your wrist.

Personally, I think the size, playful use of color, and excellent design is what sets them apart.

Are these limited editions or will they release 100 more of each once the initial run sells out?

I'm considering one but have to put on the brakes for a month or two. Unfortunately, I missed out on the Farer Ponting II GMT because they only built I think 50 of them.

Dig the look, the blue is pretty great. Reminds me of the Heuer Skipper. Would live a 3-6-9 layout of them, I just prefer a tricompax.

Interesting design, decent value for what you recieve. Bringing the funky 1970’s back.

The chronographs aren’t limited editions. The first batch is 100 of each model and according to their comments on Instagram, more will come later. This was the same process for the Lander GMT.

The Ponting II was a LE from the start. They have a Ponting III coming out in Oct/November but no indication yet if that’s a LE.

I need to qualify my previous post: all this needs is a bracelet and I would seriously consider it.

A rice link bracelet and oyster style bracelet are coming in December 😉

Not included obviously but still at least one is on its way. Same for the GMTs.

Re: Thoughts on the new Farer

I was thinking of skipping Wind-up this fall since I've attended the last two events but I'm tempted to go just to get a good look at these. I'm tempted to get the Cobb just for bewildering my fellow watch enthusiasts. In addition to the yacht timer look it's also got a little of the Hodinkee Speedmaster Special look going for it. Congrats to Farer for bringing us another vintage sized chronograph to market!
