Thoughts on the new IWC ceramic blue-dial IWC Pilot Mark XVIII

I find this 41mm watch to look very sharp, I'd most likely wear it on a brown strap. Obviously not a 'true in-house' movement. Your thoughts on this watch?

Big fan of it. The black date window hides a bit better than the white date window on the LPP editions (which I never liked too much), and the red-tip seconds hand in combination with the black case really gives it a nice sporty touch (as I'd expect w/ the Laureus models). I've also always been a fan of pilot watches on a canvas strap, as it makes it more tool-like to me. I know the strap is leather, but the texture, at least, gives it a canvas-like and more interesting look.

I like the silver case better, but wouldn’t kick this one out of bed

I like the general look--BUT, I don't like the missing 3, don't like the date window, don't like the size (41mm), and don't like the price ($5650).

I would likely buy something else before I bought this--in the $3K range, I would find this attractive--after all, its just a Flieger.

Will have to see it in person. I'm generally a big fan of the Laureus line but not sure how I feel about the glossy ceramic yet.

At first glance, it really reminds me of this Archimede:

I think it’s a great watch, I don’t mind the date but I’m a sucker for the blue dial. In person it really stand out and I really like what IWC is doing with their Mark series watches.

I don't like it. The date window looks awful because the movement is too small for that case. Throws the entire face off.

I wish ANY modern IWC Mk watch was available with no date.

I like the dial color on this but am not a fan of ceramic cases. 39 or 40mm with a steel case and no date would get serious consideration from me.

I'd most likely wear it on a brown strap.
It's beautiful. But I think what I dislike most about it is that I wouldn't wear it on a brown strap (which I'd otherwise prefer) because it has a black case and accents, and I don't think that'd look great with brown. I think the aesthetic cohesion of the head and stock strap is great, but I'm not personally keen on blue dials and black straps.
