    thoughts on a Seiko SKX007

So im looking for a replacement for my Invicta 8926 Pro diver. Some of you asked me why i wear this to work and not my rolex.....I work law enforcement and dont want to risk damaging my rolex in a fight or just on the job. Dont think the city is going to accept a claim for an $8000 watch. They would be like, here is your G-Shock...haha....I purchased the 8926 because it looked like my submariner. Any thoughts on this Seiko for the money? Or does anyone else got a good recommendation for a replacement automatic that isn't going to break the bank for my job

    thanks

    Jeff

Perfect watch for the job. I wear mine when I don't want to put my others in harm's way. It's versatile too, looks good on bracelet, rubber, or natos. IMO there's nothing in the same league for under $200.

Nearly forgot, thread is useless without pics...

Agree. They are very hearty and durable, especially when placed on a Nato or rubber strap.

I'm a Marine so I hear you about not wanting to damage your nice watch. The 007 would be a good fit for the job.

Seeing as you're an LEO I'd think you'd prefer digital since you have to write reports all of the time. I take a Suunto X10 digital GPS when I deploy so I can accurately record the time & location for my after action reports.

    Seriously, why not a G-shock?

But yeah, if you're going for an auto, an '007 nails it. You might also want to look at the Seiko "sea urchin," which is pretty much a Sub homage:

Current Rotation: Seiko SARB017, Seiko SARB035, Seiko SKX013, Seiko World Timer (c. 1970).
Box Sitters: 1972 Zodiac Astrographic (Yeah, baby!), Patek Calatrava (I bring that out for special occasions).

My Seiko is my "tool" watch. Use it for surfing and for whenever I don't want to damage a nicer watch. I love the Seiko.

How about the SKA371, which is the kinetic version? That's the Seiko I'm looking to order.
