    Time stuck.

This is probably a noob question, but I recently (today) got a new watch and all was well, then I noticed it was stuck. I tapped it and the seconds hand started moving again and now it is working just fine.

    So......

Does it need a new battery?

    Or......

Is there something more seriously wrong with the movement?

    Thanks!

In fact, it literal just got stuck again. I haven't tapped on it yet, so it is still stuck.....

I used to play TimeCrisis back in the day in the arcades. Figured the username suited me. :)

    Time stuck.

I'm assuming it's a quartz since you asked about the battery. Changing a battery is a simple way to rule out a larger problem and easy to do... I would start there.

    I like watches.

Is the day repeating over again?

    Change the battery, cheapest fix.

Since it is late and I have had a few. I switched out the battery for a watch that worked perfectly. So far, no stuckage on the new watch and no stuckage on the one I swapped the battery into. BTW, this is what I am troubleshooting.

I would give it a couple of days to see if all's well but it's starting to sound like a battery problem.

    Re: Time stuck.

Just to follow up, I ended up returning the watch since after closer inspection the hour and minute hands did not align correctly. Sad day, as I really did like that watch.
