    the toughest

I am new to watches, relatively, an after going through several threads and asking my own questions, i think the toughest watch, meaning it can take the most hits / abuse is the cx swiss military. a gshock simply can not shot by a shotgun or blown up by a stick of dynamite. i would love here everyone's thoughts.

If you’re wearing your watch while getting blown up by a stick of dynamite, telling the time will not be your chief concern.

But seriously, once you’re at G-shock/Inox/etc level, what difference does it make?

If I was in an environment where there was a genuine risk of my watch being shot with a shotgun, I'd rather just have a $10 Casio and carry another one as a spare

I'd prefer a shotgun of my own over any watch in that environment.

Rolex or Omega, it is what I wore on patrol in numerous situations with minimal concerns.

    Re: the toughest

In my opinion, a Timemachinist Toolmaster T2000 is by far the toughest watch. There is nothing that even comes close. A single blow from a Timemachinist watch would smash a CX 20,000ft to pieces. A dozen blows from a CX 20,000ft to a Timemachinist watch would only result in the CX breaking itself while leaving the Timemachinist unscathed. A Timemachinist watch could easily survive a blast from a shotgun, but a shotgun may not survive a direct hit from a Timemachinist watch. My opinion is based on the fact that I designed and made them specifically to be the toughest watches in the world.

    Re: the toughest

There's tough, and then there's practical (and affordable). I think G Shock has it covered for most of us on a daily basis. I'm certainly not going to sweat ruining my G Shock. Even under the most hazardous of conditions that I might be exposed to, it will survive where I won't. Fair enough for an $80 watch.

    Re: the toughest

I recall seeing a couple videos of Reactor watches being shot with a 22 and a shotgun, the caseback anyway. Not sure how that'll help anyone unless you wear them upside down on the wrist and pretend you're Wonder Woman.
