    Trade Value?

Is the trade value usually slightly more than the selling price? Lets say a certian watch is selling used for around $225-$275, what would you personally declare the trade value? Thanks for helping a new guy.

There's not much info here to go on, but in general if a watch in the same condition is selling within a verifiable range such as the one you provided you'd be fortunate to get that big of a credit on a trade.

    Re: Trade Value?

If it's a trade-in value (to a dealer), then considerably less than its retail used value. For a private party trade, then close to its current retail value,
but may be a little less since both parties are willing to forgo the pains of selling to acquire something different.
I'm not saying it couldn’t be a straight up perfect value for value trade, perhaps some money negotiated one way, but I'd think both parties may give a little in a trade to get what they think will make them happy.

I mostly agree, apart from trading with another member/private party. Generally trade value will be slightly higher than sales price, given the liquidity of cash versus another watch. And of course certain watches are more liquid than others.
