    A true classic - Eberhard Extra-fort

The Extra‐fort collection was created in the 1940s.

With a look seemingly unchanged in decades, the Extra‐fort can be considered the forefather
of the contemporary chronographs in the elegant‐sports segment.

The Extra‐fort Automatic (time and date functions) has an automatic mechanical movement protected by a 40 mm diameter steel case, and is waterproof to 50 metres.

The caseback is fixed with six screws, it has a screw‐in crown and the dial is protected by a domed sapphire glass.

Lack of contrast is a real killer.

For an Eberhard the dial is just too busy. Thick vertical stripes, chunky roman numerals and heavy lettering. And what must be a 46mm case is an uninspired design.

According to Mike's description it's 40mm. But I agree it's lost it's classic appeal. The previous models were nicer IMO:

What would it look like with just an average amount of fort?
